Somebody Somewhere

Someone somewhere

is just beginning

is moving

in no particular direction

is growing

is feeling

from the inside out

is becoming

young;

is seeing

is imitating

is dreaming.

Someone somewhere

has it all

wants it all

but feels vacant

sleeps in metallic beams

living in dissonance

through a wide television screen.

Someone somewhere

is saying goodbye

forever;

Someone somewhere

has had enough

has never had any

one to love

because the choices have always been too many.

Someone somewhere

is thinking

greatness

is alive fully

is smiling to no one

but everyone;

Someone somewhere

is changing

the course of humanity

is aging

bitterly

urgently

is in need of empathy

is afraid.

Someone somewhere

needs you

wants you

misses you

with all their lonely life.

Someone somewhere

is regretting

what they did

last night

what they said

last night

they should have stayed

just for that last night.

Someone somewhere

is dancing

for the last time

is leaving work

for the last time

is saying I Love You

for the last time

is dropping their heart

into the black earth

for the rest of time.

Someone somewhere

is going home

to write a poem

that someone somewhere

will read

then stop

where it ends.
